Taking inspiration from Balboa Park’s 99-acre zoo, the Nike SB Dunk Low Pro x Arts-Rec comes dressed in safari vibes, with soft hues and feral details that reflect both the urban wildlife and community spirit of America’s Finest City. It lands alongside an SB Air Trainer 1, which follows the same safari themes, combining rough suede, leopard print patterns and black fur.
The Air Trainer 1 came through as Nike’s first multi-purpose sports shoe, designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield in 1987, which was then adopted (as many Nike models are) by the skateboarding world. Five years on from its last appearance in the SB lineup, Nike SB and Arts-Rec reinvent the iconic silhouette, brining the debossed animal print from the Dunk to the party, along with a rough Pink Quartz suede swoosh landing on top of tumbled leather midfoot panel and Dusty Peach detailing.
